Area Activities
We are located just a mile from the center of Andover, is a small village nestled in a valley surrounded by the vast expanse of the western Maine mountains. The sandy Ellis River winds through the town, along our campground and flows under the iconic Lovejoy Covered Bridge. On the edge of the wilds, the area is home to Maine's plentiful wildlife including moose and bald eagles. Just a short drive away you'll find the beautiful village of Bethel and Sunday River Resort. Whether you are looking for an exciting ATV excursion, a jaunt on the Appalachian trail, or a misty morning of fly-fishing, your Maine adventure awaits.
Hiking & Swimming
Here, you are on the edge of the wilderness, with endless hiking opportunities. Day hikes abound, and for the more adventurous the Appalachian Trail is just minutes away. Find the list of the Western Maine waterfalls in the camp store and we are just 25 minutes from Grafton Notch State Park.
ATV/UTV Trail Network
We have a parking area near the office for your ATV trailer. Keep your ATV/UTV at your site and at moment's notice, you can take off into town, or on the huge network of trails in the Western Maine area.
Equestrian Trails
Located just down the road from the Ellis River Riders equestrian center, our back field sites are perfect for bringing your horses, along for your camping adventure, and you'll love the riding opportunities in the area.
Paddling & Boating
Ellis Pond runs is a beautiful pond with breath taking mountain views. It's a perfect place to kayak or paddle board and just 6.5 miles from the campground. There is even a boat launch for your bigger vessels. The Maine Lakes and Mountains Region offers paddling opportunities for all experience levels.
Sunday River
We are one of the closest campgrounds (just a half hour drive!) to Sunday River, an amazing resource year-round. Outside of ski season, the resort offers scenic chairlift rides, disc golf, climbing walls, ziplines and more at the Sunday River Mountain Park.
Bike Riding
Bring your bike! Our campground is located a short ride from Andover village, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast or an ice cream cone. Looking for a more challenging ride?

Stargazing
When was the last time you escaped the light pollution of more populated areas, and really, really saw the stars? Far from large cities, the clean air of the Western Maine Mountains makes for perfect conditions for stargazing.
Camp under the bright stars and count how many constellations and planets you can find.
Exploring Andover
The village of Andover is a lovely quiet community with true New England hospitality. Visit the town’s historic Lovejoy Covered Bridge, or take part in the town’s annual festival, Andover Olde Home Days.
Visiting Bethel
Known as “Maine’s most beautiful mountain village,” Bethel is a lovely place to explore. Full of shops, restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, and annual events. Learn more about the Bethel area.
