Camping with your ATV

For the comfort and safety we ask all guest and visitors to obey the following policies.

  • First common sense and respect for fellow guests and neighbors.

  • MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT 5MPH idle speed at all times from campsite to trail

  • Everyone must follow the Maine State Laws & Regulations when operating an ATV, UTV and 4-wheelers on campground and trail properties. https://www.maine.gov/ifw/atv/laws-rules.html

  • Be aware some the trails are shared with the our fellow horse riders

  • When approaching horse riders please pull over and let them safely pass by.

  • Persons 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.  If driving the person has to have successfully completed the State of Maine training course and be accompanied by an adult.

  • All ATV owners and riders will accept responsibility for any injuries, accidents and or property damage. This includes campground property and trail system property.

  • There is no riding on state routes – this could result in Lone Mountain Campground loosing the trail access from the campground.

  • Always stay on marked trails and follow the signs and barriers. A lot of the trails run through private properties it imperative you follow the rules or it could cause a loss of access of the trail.

  • No wheelspinning, brake sliding or side winding. This causes damage and gauges and ruts the trail.

  • Follow all signs and respect all boundaries.

  • Drive responsibly, in groups if possible.

  • Always what you carry in your carry out – do not litter and please pick up any trash you may see out of courtesy for all people and wildlife!

  • Noise respect – no overly loud machines, no revving of engines and no unnecessary idling of machines.

  • No ATV riding during quiet hours.

  • Thank you for being humanly kind and respectful!
